7800gt price

The new price after rebate for a evga 7800gt is 280!! I was wondering if you guys think it will come down significantly in the near future. In other words, should I get it now or wait until after the holidays?

I'm watching this closely too. But recently the Evga's are not looking so great because of all the problems people are having with them crashing, and some still having issues still after a bios flash.

I hope that some of you who ORDERED FROM NEWEGG, A EVGA 7800GT recently can comment more on this.

I ordered one last night but not the $280.00 version. They are not listed at the time so I figure they must be out of stock. I went for the one with the copper heatsink, model #M517. I will let you know when I get the thing next week.

I ordered one of the eVGA 7800GTs with the free motherboard a couple weeks ago. It's a great card, never had any problems. Anyways, I say that for 280 dollars it's a steal, wish I had payed that little for mine.

I bought on of the XFX 7800 GTs a month ago when it was 339.00 with a 40 mail in rebate making it 299.00 plus a free copy of COD2, which i would have bought anyways. Its a great card. Haven't had any prblems yet. I have 2 of them in SLI. The first one was 379 and worth every penny about 6 months ago. These cards are awesome bang for their buck. I have a 3700+ San Diego OCed to 2.8. With one card non-OC i was getting 7400 in 3dmark 05 and with SLI non-oc i am hitting around 12260 in 3dmark05. But I have had no experience with the Evga, but i would imagine its very similar to the XFX. Point being that you can buy 1 7800 GTX 512 (if you can find one) for $750 and hit around 10k in 3dm05 or buy 2 of these for 600 at today prices and hit around 12k, plus you can join Nvidia's Club SLI and get a shnazy free sticker, poster and fan grill.

Yeah, the price is really coming down. Im thinking about getting one, then when i have the money, get another and run both.
