Welcome the SAA...yes that stands for Seti Addiction Anonymous. You seem to have cought the seti bug. Pretty soon you will not be seeing computers, but crunchers. An endless farm of crunchers. You will not be saying nice computer, but rather man i wish i had seti running on that. I have three going right now in my mini computer lab in my cramped dorm. I am going to be adding another bad boy to the farm as soon as I do some trading! New AMD cruncher...my first amd oh i can't wait.

Boy do I know that feeling!

We're in for a drastic weather change in the next few days and the first cold front came through today. Preceding the plummeting temperatures came the cold front with it's high winds. So far today, our power has gone out at least three times for a total of about four hours (Boy was it QUIET in here without all of those WBK's and FOP's running!)

I currently have six machines running SETI, with each power failure comes the resetting of each machine, With two of these outages coming during my working hours, needless to say the machines didn't all get reset. My wife and kids just don't get this KVM switch thing!

Having completed my 800th WU and just passed "Eliminator" yesterday to get into the "top 100 club", this was untimely to say the least!

Oh well with the advent of lower temps, comes higher clock speeds, should be an interesting winter.

Good Luck and keep on crunching!

Power outages????? mmmmm.....I have found a work around for it (at least for me and my BIOS). There is a setting in my Advanced Configuration that says something like "What to do when power is cut out" and there are 2 settings:

1.-Off (that means that after the poer goes out, computer reamins off)

2.-Return to previous status (so that if the computer was on the computer will be on again. If it was off then it will remain off).

This added to the SETISpy shortcut in the Sart Menu gives you an fail prouf fix to power cuts (I'm thinking in buying a UPS, but with the power consumption I have I will be needing a big one an that is a little out of my budget). :)

I'm aware of those settings. But seeing as how I don't have any critical work being dependant on these machines, I'd rather reset them myself after the problems have past.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
