currently i dont own a dvdburner and i was wondering if it is possible to burn a .avi or .mpg video onto a cd that could be read by a dvd player (home theater one so it plays like a dvd) is this possible? thx alot

What you are looking for is VCD or SVCD formats. Do a search on google for how to do it. Not all, but most DVD players will read them. They are about the quality of a VHS tape (VCD) and slightly better for SVCD.

Also, have you considered buying a DVD Burner? They can be had for a very low price these days.

hehe yeah thx i forgot about vcd's, and i never do anything with dvds becides ripping them (considering getting a burner soon) but i needed a way to do a project tomorrow and play in a dvdplayer and now i have a way! thx

DVD burners are wicked cheap now, like $40. You have a pretty gangster setup, might as well complete it.

Newegg has several name brand dvd burners for under 45. I would check them out.
