Well,I finally got a raptor for Christmas and installed it.I used Ghost to to write my XP installation to it's first partition.I thought I could just disconnect the raid array it resides on and boot the raptor(like I can my Ghost IDE),but it will boot and get to the welcome screen and sit there.
How do I find the path for it to edit the boot ini ? As it is the same installation as the array it does not show up in the fast detect as a different OS so I cannot chose it there.
I should add,This is what it says now
[boot loader]
timeout=0
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

In properties the array says location bus0 target id0 lun0
theraptor says location bus1 target id0 lun0

what I would do, is insert the WIndows XP CD, boot off of it, install the SATA drivers for the controller, then go to repair and do a fixboot, fixmbr on the drive.

As it turned out it was a conflict with the SI680 raid card.SATA and it do not seem compatable.The Ghosted image taken from the SI card had corruption in a few files(never seen that before).I had to Ghost from the card to IDE first and from the IDE to the SATA.I Tried the same things over and over and finally realized that the SI raid card and the SATA 3112 had allmost the same bios.AS soon as I removed the 680 card and it's driver it booted right up!
