i have an amd athalon 1.2
standard HSF
1 extra case fan (intake in side at bottom)
1 exauhst fan (and the psu exauster)
and also a duct over the HSF (no fan on duct-just uses room temp air)

my temps at idle are: (sorry i dont no the *F temps)
22C sys
24C CPU

at full load:
25C SYS
35-40 CPU

are these temps good enuf to begin some overclocking?
(if required extra cooling would be no problem to install.)

Welcome to the forums!

If you want to OC some, those are some nice temps and I wouldn't feel bad about getting a little more out of your chip. Just make sure you OC gradually and test the stability of your system with Prime95 (generates errors if your comp's unstable) often.
You say you have a standard HSF. Do you mean the stock HSF that came with the chip? If so, those are some low temps for just a stock fan.
Enjoy!

I'd say yea but would put a fan in the duct. just remember to take it slow only increase the FSB a little at a time and run it for awhile to make sure it`s stable.

That sure spanks my orb fan. Guess that's why I'm going to watercooling.
