My friends video card stopped working after a format gone bad,his computer shutdown while formating.When he started the pc he heard some beeps,we removed his vcard and we put an old mx400 agp,it worked.Can anyone tell me what happened?

Can we have some details... manufacturer, type. Did the power go out while doing it?

Bleh forgot to add specs!

Stock no pipes unlocked at all
The computer just shutdown out of no where.The power did not go out because we had the tv on.

try putting it in another comp and c if it works....it may have been fried somehow...surge? heat?short circuit?

Yes, I would check the powersupply. If it failed there is a chance it could have taken your card with it. I hope that is not the case.

if his psu failed then he wouldnt be able to make his computer work with the mx400. the best thing to do like someone already said is to put the card into another computer to see if it works.
