Hello everyone,
I have an AMD Thunderbird 1.4Ghz (266) and was wondering if anybody could tell me what sort of tempertaures i should expect to be hitting when using the machine for normal use??
I seem to be around 55 degrees C or thereabouts, although it has gone higher.
Can anyone help me out here with some info???
Thanks a lot,
Paul
55°C is way too hot just at idle:eek: What HSF do you have? What case cooling do you have? What are your voltages set at? What are your ambient temps? Take a look at my sig & use it as a guide to make your own, just click on user cp, beats having to type it everytime;) We need info about your rig so we can better help you. Idle temps should be at the mid to low 30s.

Thanks for the reply...
HSF : CoolerMaster DP5 - 6I11A if that means anything to you (rated upto 1.4Ghz)
Case Cooling.. i normal std fan, probably doing not a lot, but it is working.
Voltages etc are all set as standard - i have played with anything. yet;) Vcore = 1.75
Why would the temps be so high?? What can i do without spending too much to get them down to normal ish temps??
Just looked again at temps, and can go over 60 degrees C.
HELP :)
Check if that HSF is seated properly. I don't know that HSF but ratings usually never work. Do you have any sort of heat sink compound?

The difference with this is that the pins are now ribb compared to the MC462. Pricey but the best.

The SK6 is pretty good & not so expensive but they have been having problems with quality control as of late.
