We can not discuss that on these forums.

That's interesting. I wonder if the DVD has some special form of copy protection. I'm guessing it's something like Sony's XCP that automatically installs when you put the disc in if you have disc autorun enabled. What company makes the dvd? If this is the case, I'd strongly recommend disabling autorun, not so much so you can copy dvd's, but more because these programs are a point of entry for malicious software and compromise your system's security.

Sadly, you cannot trust dvd/cd makers nowadays not to automatically install viruses/spyware on your pc when you put a disc in. I might also consider returning the disc to the store and stating that you are not interested in purchasing discs that you cannot back up or make fair use copies of.

If it's a Sony disc and it's XCP, you can sign on to a class action lawsuit because of the security vulnerabilities this exposes you to.

Yeah. Good luck with that.

But as far as getting around it, try google. The are other forums for that.

good news! problem solved..FINALLY; iv encountered this with about 10 dvds
here's what i did:
first rip it with no compression.
emulate that using alcohol 120
then re-shrink it w/compression and im golden!
