View Full Version : Honeycomb block?
Ok heres my thought... What if you were to make a honeycomb design on the inside of a water block? It would go from side to side, open on the ends so the water could enter each chamber equally. It would make internal contact area much larger. just an idea, got the idea from this (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42681) thread...

interesting idea, but out of all honesty, the benefit of honeycomb typically is because its lightweight, and requires little surface area. for intance, honeycomb graphite snowboards (hehe, oh yeah), have VERY little material to them, becuse honeycomb is small, yet strong shape. they weigh like 4 pounds, but are stronger than a metal core board.
we want the opposite. HIGH surface area. so, a heatsink inside the block is a best solution really.

that is the point exatcly, lots of surface area out of a small ammount of stuff, the sufrcase area inside the comb will be great
