I have just purchased 1.5 gigs of this ram, and i wondering how you would rate its performance with ocing. I brought this for my dad because im building him a rig for christmas, its only an old 1700+ XP and whats in my XP3200+ right now is 3 sticks of 512 of 333. Im not sure what they are, but its old. I was wondering if swapping out the 333 for the 400 would be better for my system and then giving my dads new 1700+ the 333. Would giving the 1700+ be overkill? I think it makes sense right? Has anyone had any sucess ocing with the Corsair Valueselect?

I was able to get 228MHz @ 2.5-3-3-8 and 231MHz @ 2.5-4-4-10 on my pc3200. Using three sticks limits your overclock. So if you are not getting the results you think you should try doing each stick individually.

I orginally didnt intend to use the 400 for myself, but i figured why not, the 333 should be fine for the 1700+ it was when i had it. I have the 333 running at 400 right now, and i dont think it will go much further so i guess its better than what i have now, i was spending the money anyway. I heard if i were to buy a gig for example, buying the two 512s would be cheaper than the 1 gig stick. this true?

I have 4x512mb sticks

1 pair does 238 at 2.5/3/3/8 1T

other pair does 227+ at 2.5/3/3/8 1T

no problems running at least 215 with all 4 sticks installed at 2T.

They are good sticks, but I'm selling mine soon to move onto something even better in the 1g size.
