Ok i am a fairly newbie to OCing ... i notice that my system temp was 32C and CPU 43C (Thats Athlons for ya ;) )

Anyways i opened up my case (thinking i needed a clean out before i started to OC anything.....

I unscrewed my PSU opened up the grid got out a brush (paint brush is best) got rid of all dust on fan, air holes e.t.c went to my system fan did the same then unscrewed my cpu fan cleaned that out (you can have a shot at your graphics card fan while your there if you want).

left on for 5hrs playing games and my work and my temps are

System 23C
CPU 31C

Idle

System 22C
CPU 24C

after 15Minutes work

I couldn't beleive it!!

not bad eh ;)

P.S don't apply too much presure on the CPU fan when unscrewing the screws you don't wanna scrap your cpu over a few C's do ya ?

Anyways i hoped this helped a few newbies like myself

Dust kills... Canned air is cheap at Costco and will make your next cleaning easier.

ThermalRight SK6 is one of the best heatsinks on the market right now. You did well in picking up that one.

Those are some NICE temperatures, what's your room ambient? My room is about 22 - 23C and my CPU temp is about 45 at idle and 50 a load w/ the case on, which is very high. Keep in mind, though, that my Delta is not running at full speed (the fan is @ 7 volts).

And Welcome to the Forums (Thats the 3rd time i've said that today . . . ) :D
