a friend of mine is looking to build a computer, he's going to have a Pentium4 3.0, x800xl , 1 hard drive , 2 dvd burners, and a couple of fans.

just wanted to know if this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104953) powersupply would be enough to power it. or if they are any alternatives at around this price

he doesn't plan to overclock and just run it stock numbers

It will be okay, especially if it's a northwood, not really sure myself how much power prescotts use.

Yep, especially with no overclocking.
