For two months I've been struggling to get my Duron to clock over 900. But I couldn't even get it to post at 950. I tried everything I could think of, including a new power supply. Thanks to a suggestion by pik33 it's now boots like a champ at 1000.

His suggestion was to connect the L7 bridges. I had upped the vcore in the bios, but he correctly pointed out that that doesn't take effect until after the post.

Just to show that stars don't always matter, I had gotten suggestions on this problem from lots of people, including seniors and mods. pik33 solved it with one star.

Thanks pik33!!!!! :D :D :D

Congrats on your successful Duron overclock. Someone suggest that I do the same with my Duron 700. After buying new ram and a power supply, I though it was hopeless trying to get over 900. I finally got it to 950. :) Not a huge increase, but a increase never the less.

I'm glad my information was useful.

And stars? They are only for post # on this forum... ;)

I did my L7s on my duron and it went nuts so I suggest using conductive ink or pencil so you can remove it easly if things go badly!

Nice job getting it up to 950 now only 50mhz to a gig!!!!!!

what multiplier/fsb are you using?

Normally i find if you raise the fsb and the comp is unstable or won't post upping the VCore normally sorts things out.
