Need some ideas for designing a custom case, looking for more then drwaing on paper and less then a $1,000 piece of software (actually, no money will (or can) be spent!) Any ideas that have worked for you or you think would be good will be appreciated!
Thanks a bunch, pics of the process will be posted as soon as I start!

If you need software any old 3D design software that allows unit-based manipulations will do. I myself use Milkshape 3D (http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/) which is available as a free 30-day trial. Costs $25 to register after that.

Of course any kind of custom enclosure design done on the computer through software will require experience with 3D modelling and actual practical experience with machining materials to specification. If you don't have those it may prove fairly pointless for you to continue as you will need more practice with the tools required.

True, but it will give me a better and more accurate way to see the end product.
Thanks!

I would just use some pencil paper and a ruler to measure the parts. Heh, I guess doing on the PC would be a bit easier. I have an old copy of AutoCAD that I would probably use today if I had too.
