I replaced my 1.2 AXIA with a 1.33 AYHJA & got it to 1716 @ 1.85v! Only 8.5C CPU core temp!!

With the 1.2 the best I got was 1644 @ 2.03V and 17C core temp.

I got it burnin in & I'm gonna try for more tomorrow.

I posted all new benchmarks on my site.

Nice overclock! :D If you only knew how hard I struggled to get that much speed. Any details you care to supply on your phase change cooling system?

It's all on my website.

what is your website

I just finished reading about it on your site, very nice setup man, i like. You really should submit this to overclockers to publish on the front page.

I just read the article on your Web page. I take back my comment about all the trouble I went to. Your system makes a pelt/bong setup look like child’s play. Simply awesome!

Thanx Colin! That's got to be the best compliment I've had on this setup yet!

I'd say it was a lot of work, but I've been doing it a little at a time for months now.. If I had just done it all at once, I'd be wiped out right now.. It's kind of an on-going hobby project.. Everytime I look at it I think of something else to do..

It started out water cooled, then I saw the refrig unit in a catalog for only $50, so I went to that.. One of my friends asked me "when are you going to make that nuclear powered PC?"

I just replied with "Hmmm.. Nuclear powered... That gives me an idea!" LOL

JESUS! Those temps and speeds are incredible! After I get my Dual-pelt system up I'm going to try phase cooling after seeing what you did with it! Only $150-$200 too, jeez. Way to go ptcg! You da' man!

That's awsome man couple questions though.

1. where can i get the base system.
2. you obviously have access to machineing equipment and skills to use it so how much do you estmate the cost would be to have something like the evaporator made.
3. Are you crazy(cause i am)

1. I bought the refrig unit for $50 from a place called "Surplus Center".. We got their catalog at work.

Phone # is: 1-800-488-3407
Part # was: 1-1302 Refrigeration Unit (don't know if they still have it)

2. If you bought it from us (where I work).. Just one piece, would probably cost at least $200+.. There is a setup charge, tooling cost, per hour cost, materials, etc... (We do large quantity jobs.. If you ordered 1000pcs, I could get you a real good 'per piece' price! LOL) This piece I just made myself in my spare time. I've seen similar setups where people just used a copper block as a cold plate & a copper end-cap soldered to it for the evap. Works just as good, if not better, but harder to control condensation.
I'm not really sure where you could get one made cheap. I guess you'd have to find someone who had access to the machines needed who would do it 'as a favor'.. Kinda like getting a mechanic buddy to fix your brakes.

3. Yes, I've been told I was crazy before. But then again, people thought Einstein was crazy too, no?

Overclockers has a rule that prevents posting of personal Web sites unless you are a Senior Member. I know this applies to signatures. I do not know if it applies in this particular case. ptcg has been kind enough to observe this protocol. If you want to find the Web site address, it's in ptcg's profile. Just click on the "Profile" button at the bottom of one of ptcg's posts.

I wonder what would happen if you put 2-3 high end pelts in that setup:D

-60 temps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but really......has anyone tryed this?

That's really sweet how you moded it that bad!!!

How did you get the idea of doing all of this?

Well, I never really was much of an OC'r. I've tried OCing before, with an Intel 233MMX, AMD K6 450, etc.. but not much luck.
When I saw how much you could get out of the Athlons, I really got into it..

I started with water cooling, but couldn't get very high with that. I've always liked to build my own stuff as opposed to buying it ready-made. I made my own water blocks, reservoir, etc..

My temps were around 40C under 100% load at 1350Mhz, not bad, but not great. I saw the Surplus Center catalog at work one day & was looking through it at the fans/blowers, trying to come up with a better way to cool the water..

I saw the fridge unit for only $50 and I had seen the Vapochill website, so I put 2 & 2 together &said, hey! Icould make that myself! Wahoooo!

I already cut my case up for the water cooling setup, so I just bought another one just like it & fitted the fridge to the top. When I had it all ready, I just transferred all my parts from the old case to the new one.

As far as the window, neon light, etc.. They were just things I had seen around online and thought they would look cool.

I was one of those kids who would take apart all his toys to see how they worked, then mix 'em up & build some totally new invention from all the parts... My parents loved me LOL

Everyone seems to be very interested in the design of the evap. so I'm trying to make a 3D model of it & maybe a small video of the model rotating.. I'll put it up on my site when I get it right.

Here's someone who used a dual compressor setup and a 120Watt TEC... got it to -50C!
That's just a little too much for my tastes.. Talk about condensation worries!

That is a great setup!! You really should grab an Athlon XP and see what you can do with that! I'm very impressed!!

I've been hearing bad things about the XPs.. They seem to be harder to OC.. I don't know if my board supports them either.. I'll have to look into it some more.

The only thing you could do to make it better is put the whole thing in a full tower. But its cool now, (pun not intended)
