ok here is the problem,
I installed winxp as a second os, and setup my network inside winxp, but it wont let me view files from my other pc(shared files).
I have tried all the stupid automatic installations in winxp for networks(with no luck), now i want to get it working, i dont care how its just driving me crazy(j/k).
Can anyone shed some light in this dark dark room(help)?

Oh ya
the two computers work if both have win98 on them, but now only one does and it doesnt(win98 on one and winxp on the other) i have the pro version, and the computers are liked through a 10/100mb connection with a crossovercable, I can get lanchat to work(networking chat program) but nothing else works. :(

thanks for any help :D

You did allow the drives to be shared right? (the little tick box)

Other than that I'd suggest doing it manually like I did. Works fine.

ya i have the sharing thing ticked, it was working before when i had win98 connecting to win98 but when i upgraded the first computer to xp it wouldnt show me the files(still does when i boot in win98 though, multiboot), I know that winxp recongizes the network connection and the workgroup is the same, so is the submask, but i still cant get it to work, I think i am just going to abandon usingxp for networks(just switch to 98 when i need it)
thanks for the help:D
