Have you tried to turn down the mutlipiler and up the fsb?

Hey,
It is my computer we are working on. I haven't tried doing anything with the FSB I have left that for the time being.. when I put the multiplier up to 900 Mhz it will not post.. it almost seems like it Posting but there is no monitor output. I unlocked the L7 bridges to make it 1.85 and also unlocked the L1 and the pencil should be sufficient. It runs at 850 just fine with no problems. My BIOS is now totally up to date it I have the KT133 Chipset any help would be appreciated.

The most you could do w/ that board is *maybe* 110 on the FSB. I'd lower your multiplier and raise the FSB as high as you can. I assume you're running at 8*100, so try running it at 8.5*106 to get 900, rather than 9*100. If that works, try getting it a little bit higher (FSB wise) until it won't boot, then drop it back a little bit, boot into Windows and test for stability (Folding@Home, SETI@home and Prime95 are good programs to bench w/). If its stable, bonus points. If its not, then drop the FSB back and see if that does the trick.

Hope that helped.

are you doing the changes from the bios or board?

if from bios try switching to board

and...redo your L1 bridges..they might be causing problem

Check the L1s. Pencil lead is not really the best way to unlock the multiplier. Something that important should be handled with something more than a $.25 tool. With the KT133 chipset you will not be able to get high FSB,110-115 if your lucky.

where can you get the trace tape to for the L1. I have a 1.1 T-Bird and I want to unlock it.

Ok Guys,
I have it running at 909 right now using 107*8.5. now why won't it let me go to 9 on the multiplier if it is running 9 now as it is...
I am also wondering if there is going to be any damage to my cards running them at 107- perhaps 110 if I can get there... I'm going to redo the pencil to see if it is the problem. also in my mobo book it says I/O Voltage Setting now its running at default 3.56 volts should I try doing it up to 3.69 or will it damage my components. I do not want any damage to my cards and memory at all costs. Thanks in Advance
PS Im doing the FBS and the Multiplier on board

no it wont damage your cards
but it will shorten the lifespan

i m running 150fsb on the cards and they are still ok...i seen people running 17x fsb....especially the people taht use intel as they cant overclock via multiplier....so it relys on strictly multiplier

what about putting my I/O Voltage settings up to 3.69 and trying the multiplier again... or should I just leave that... i have run this cpu at 1G with a different mobo.. so i know it can do it. has anyone raised their I/O Voltage settings because i dont want to junk my pc.. also Sky you said it will shorten the lifespan.. by how much.. btw thanks for all the help

I really wouln't put the VIO up that high, the highest you want to go is about 3.5. I have heard that putting the VIO up that high can cause damage,

Well, I have something like your setup. Although, I have a 900 t-bird.

The way I get my 1026 from it was, 108*9.5. That and some Crucial ram. Just find your max stable fsb at normal multiplyer, then try and raise it .5 at a time so you can find your max stable speed. Once you get unstable, lower fsb 1 at a time till stable.

Similar problem here: hardware is below, if FSB or multiplier is changed from anything but default (100mhz [200] and Above x13) my system won't POST either.....need to clear CMOS with mobo jumper and reload defaults again. Unsure of what to do, could use help.

i just set the max i/o voltage on my a7v already and i have been using it for 3 months...everything is fine

i don't know how long it will shorten the lifespan but i think it will last a looonnnnggg while before crapping out

well I put the I/O voltage to max and it still wouldn't boot at 9 on the multiplier. any ideas

you can try to kick the board j/k:D

actually, maybe pencil just doesnt work for you..try using the conductive pen as last resort

Sounds like it aint unlocked properly, then some multipileres works and other not. Try redoing the l1 bridges.

This is the cause most of the time. I was just telling someone in another thread, I had to redo mine several times before it would wrok consistently. Erase, and give it another shot.

I tried my cpu in another computer that I have and no luck there either I'm going to try and redo the bridges I've done it a few times already so I guess giving another shot wont hurt. Thanks for all the Helpful responses guys. You've been good help Thanks
