I fresh installed windows xp on my desktop. i have 3 drives, a 36, 200, and 300gb. the 300gb is only recognized as a 128 with no filesystem, yet the 200 shows up as a 200 just fine. this problem persists after i install SP2 and other driver and OS updates. are there any suggestions?

and, has windows actualy done something to mess up my drive, or has it just been unable to see it correctly?

I was able to fix this problem by uninstalling the drive in the BIOS and the device manager, then reinstalling it after the SP2 install, which I guess caused Windows to re-evaluate the drive for what it really was.
