I'm currently thinking of building a fairly quiet Water Cooling system.
On a BlackIce Pro III, I'm thinking of putting three Delta 120x38mm Triple Blade Low Speed Fan (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de12trbllows1.html) in Series.
I was wondering if this Rheostat (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/rheosformc.html) could handle all 3.

I seem to have forgotten almost everything I learned in school regarding calculations and electricity. If one is willing to re-explain (quicly) how it's calculated (again) it would be great too. :)

Well on the Rheostat is says total power consumption of all fans total is not go above 0.7 amps and each fan takes up .16amps. I dont know if electricity calculations are like this but .16 x 3 < .7 = .48 < .7

I would hope that you are well in the range of safe. But of the actual Rheostat, I dont know if it would work.

3 fans in parrelle is 25 ohms. That pot goes up to 50 ohms so it can runs the fans down to 4 volts. At the lowest speed the pot will burn off 3.84 watts. At half (25 ohms) fans run at 6 volt and pot burns 4.32v. And the total draw at full speed the fans pull .48 Amps which is under the .7 stated as safe

So if I didn't screw up you should be safe.

But $10 is expesive for a pot. This (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062299&cp=2032058.2032230.2032275&pg=2&parentPage=family) is $4 but will only run fans down to %50 and burns 2.88 Watts.
