Welcom to The Forum Hexen. Firstly this might be better posted in the General HardWare or Software and Operating Systems, depending on what tweaks you would like to make. Secondly without knowing what your system is it is difficult to offer specific advice.
The front page of Overclockers.com has links on many subjects, including Beginners Guides. These are written with care and contain real "Nuggets" of information.

Well first welcome aboard!! great forums here...

Second off, Im not sure if this is what your looking for, but you might want to look into if you dont already have it. X-Setup. Its a rather interesting little tweaking program, offers all kinds of interesting things, just do a search for it on zdnet or cnet. I think I got it off of one of those... lucks to yea!

Well that's strange,I went to download the program you gave me and install it and it said the specified path file is denied   Hmm,First time that ever happened...

Did you get it d/led? Was that in the d/l of it? or the install of it?

Hexen

It was in the install of it.

Hmm. Try to find it at a different site, the one you got it from might have some kind of problem with the file. Try to get it from a different site and try it again...

Really couldnt say man, I havent been looking for any recently so I havent been paying attention. Post a thread in the video area and ask, Im sure someone there could prolly send yea in the right direction. Another thought however, go to pricewatch (http://www.pricewatch.com) and do a little searching, That might give yea some ideas....

If I was you, I would concider getting a good Nvidea MX400
card with 64mb of memory. That upgrade would get you
the biggest bang for your buck in my opinion.

You should be able to get a good one for the amount you
mentioned, and it should blow away an ATI card with
32mb of ram. I used to have an xpert2000 with 32mb of
ram, and my TNT2 card blows it away. The mx400 is 2x as
fast as the TNT2.

Avoid getting the cheapest one you can find.
Stay away from any INNO3D card in particular.
Look around and find one with the DDR memory.

If you're looking for a good, cheep videocard, you could do worse than the ATI Radeon 32DDR LE. All you have to do to make this card kick ass is overclock it a little bit, and enable the Z-buffer. You can do this w/ a little program called RadeonTweaker from http://radeontweaker.sourceforge.net

If you have a little more money to spend, you could pick up a Radeon 64DDR w/ VIVO (what I have). Great cards for gaming and real-life applications, although they bench really low, so people say they suck (They don't, the bench programs just aren't written for them). You'll be 100% happy w/ either of these cards.

And what Operating System are you running? We could help you out w/ the tweaks more if we knew that.

Woohoo I found a great ATI card! About 70$ and it's 64MB DDR (ATi Radeon VE 64MB-DDR Dual Monitor AGP Video Card )
And i'm running Windows 98 (SE),Found some new stuff that
CompGeeks (http://www.compgeeks.com) offered today,Getting a 400W PS for about 60$,Just wish I could find a new CPU,But it seems that the Slot A's are going out of style :(,Haven't been able to O/C it right yet,BIOS wont let me change the FBS or the V-Core of CPU,Looking for the program that changes these but I need to find out some more info on the current chipsets in it atm,Chaintech 7ATA Mobo MFC in 2000,Slot A CPU,3 DIMM slots (768MB RAM-Supports PC100-PC133) 5PCI slots 1 SCSI slot,AGP slots supporting AGP 1x/2x/4x, 250W PS  ,Need to do some serious updates don't I lol :p Well any help would be appreciated! I always had good results from the small programs from AnalogX (http://www.analogx.com/) like MAXMEM,NET STAT LIVE & a whole lot more. Get Sandra 2001 (http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/sandra/) then read the suggestions after running a system check. Don't forget msconfig & do a selective start up to speed up that boot time. TweakUI 1.33 is a must. Set your swapfile size in it's own small partition.

My favorite goes as such...

Right click your desktop
Go to 'new'
then go to 'shortcut'
In the command line type in :
********
C:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows
********
Click next,
Name it something simple like - fast shutdown,
Go to your desktop and duoble click it - now how sweet is that!
It it the ONLY way I shut down now on my rig.
A faster way to restart - when you go to start - shutdown - then select reboot, hold the shift key then click on the button - hold the shift key until it restarts... it forces it to skip the process of rebooting the comp and only reboots Windows... and it does not work in WinME.
Have fun!

I posted this three times now - I want to know what other people think about it...

Too over clock a slot A processor you need a GFD, it is a card that goes on the chip after the case is removed it allows you to change multipliers I believe.
