What is better and more safe?

cut and connect L* bridges to increase multiplier on T-Bird 1Ghz or mod the mobo GA-7VTXE with dip switch? (is has the position to apply it and 7VTXH has it)

I'm in that position because Gigabyte until monday had another page refering about 7VTXE and i bought it and tuesday they change it (and yesterday the mobo arrive :( )
I talk to them and they told me that i can change the multiplier but only if unlock the CPU but i cannot find any clue about how to change it because it hasn't any dip switch as 7VTXH or BIOS multiplier changer :(

Right now i'm working at 1208 with 7.5X161 and the system is far more than simple stable :D :D

if possible mod the board...

but if not possible then sell the board on ebay or something and get yourself another one

What is better 8.5 or 9.5 multiplier?
for 8.5 i must cut L3-3 and L6-2 and connect L3-4
for 9.5 i must cut L4-1 and L6-3 and connect L4-2

it's easy this task because if i need x9 i must cut and connect more bridges.

The 7VTXH does in fact have a multiplier adjust via BIOS (see: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/products/7vtxh.htm ) but to enable it properly you need to connect all your L1 bridges. See http://www.overclockers.com/tips693/ for more info on how to connect the bridges. Hapy OCing!

I own 7VTXE and after 10 emails with gigabyte we are at the same position. They continue to say that I must unlock my CPU to change the multiplier and I'm asking them where the f*ing multiplier is (I unlock my CPU and i use also and an unlocked from AMD K7-1.4Ghz but nothing)

I found someone who want the mobo (he doesn't want to oc it) so i will buy 7VTXH because see that GA-7VTXE/7VTXH is very good and stable. (I'm looking at 7DXR but i don't think so)

The 1 month I have it, it's more that stable than a rock at 166 Mhz Bus and my DDR works at 332 Mhz with the thermaltakes memory cooling kit on it.

Sorry for bringing up an antique thread.

I have a GA-7VTXE+ mobo with an XP1800+ and want to run it at a higher multiplier. I unlocked the L1 bridges as per THG video but nothing comes up the BIOS to set the multiplier.

Does anyone know whether the 7vtxe+ supports this function or did i just screw up the unlocking process. I am also temped to mod the mobo to be like the 7vtxh+ by adding the missing dip switches. Should be a simple matter of soldering in the missing switch and maybe changing some pull-up resistors ... i hope
