I finally found a VGA cable for my XBOX 360, so here are some pics using the Dell 2005fpw.
I'm a bad Photographer, but here are a few shots. I'm using the highest resloution available and can say that it looks much better than my 3rd gen toshiba 50" rear projection hdtv.

yea, it would be too small. Even my 50" seems to small when using 4 player split screen.

when you increase the resolution does the fps drop low enough for you to notice?
does the lcd dislike not being run @ native resolution?

Dell FPWs are 16:10 NOT 16:9 so the image is going to be slightly stretched no matter what, unless he enables the raw image mode where the screen displays the source resolution without any interpolation or scaling(so for example if it was a 640x480 image, it would be a small box in the middle of the screen surround by black). I'd go with the highest res and use the direct view mode. You'll get black bars around the image, but it won't be stretched or blurred at all.
btw, get some GOOD games. NHL and Tiger Woods? wtf. What about pgr3?

LOL....I have PGR and Perfect dark too. But my buddy has PGR for the week while I play his Call of duty
As far as the pic sizes...The first pic is clickable and should be a full screen image.

It's not, I've already run the Xbox 360 on my 21 Inch monitor (Non Wide Screen Mind You) and the main menu is Curved. I thought the same thing, but thats just how the menu looks. The VGA cable rocks, if I ever buy the system I have the cable hehe.
I haven't noticed and slow downs while playing hockey or PGR. However, the frame rates on Tiger seem to slow a bit, but it does that on my TV too.
No slow downs at 1280x1024 or that 1360x768, the games do look a lot better at HD. I wouldn't even buy the system if I had to play it on a non HD monitor, not worth it.

It doesn't matter because the game is rendered at it's native resolution and then scaled to whatever resolution you choose in the dashboard.
Looks like a compooter to me :)

I suggest choosing something called "aspect" on your monitor, it will keep the same aspect ratio but stretch it to fit the full screen with little bars on the top and bottom (for 16:9). It will still look great but the people won't be tall and skinny and the whole picture squashed.

Looks great invisible hand!
I have been testing with VGA cable on my HD monitor as well and so far it's great. My only complaint is that the colors are little weak compared to component cables which produce much sharper and colorfull images. I have no idea why M$ doesn't support HDMI input on Xbox360 since they praised HD so much

That is Sony talk! Some third party will come out with a cable eventually.

My friend has the VGA cable and its awesome on his 19in LCD, however the only complaint I have is that no matter what we do in Halo 2 (which acutaly runs under emulation on xbox360) the sreen is split horizonatlly in 2 player which sucks
also kind of stinks the the xbox 360 doesnt support the native resoltuion of 1680x1050
so u can manually select the resolutions in 360 games?
does that mean if my non HDtv can support up to 1024x768 it can display it?
cuz to mee thats better than nothing, being that ps2/xbox only ran up to 640x480, or was that 800x600? can someone inform me?
im really intrested to know how this thing is compatible with non HDTVs :santa2:
