I have Geforce 6200 and when i try to go past 375 hz core clock to 376 then i hit apply and it loads a program in the background that utilizes 100% of my CPU usage and I'm unable to get around it.
Is there a way to edit the reg with out going through the driver like the old days.
I have the core overclocked to 400 now for last eight hours but it wont help if cant stop the limiter deterrent program running 100% in the back ground.

I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about, but RivaTuner is an excellent NV overclocking tool for *safely* removing throttling and other such limiting factors.
Or you could flash the bios....

Power Strip or Riva Tuner is your best bet for Overclocking. I Dont suggest Coolbits.

i second using rivatuner. my 6200 refuses to clock past 467MHz using driver level ocing (coolbits), but when i use rivatuner i can push 490mhz stable, and 530mhz with massive artefacts. i guess its just the driver saying "no, bugger off." give it a go and see what you think

EDIT: oh yeah, about that program thats being a pain in the ass, if you cant close it with taskmangler (rare, but it does happen) go to start | run | cmd | taskkill /im "the_application.exe" /f

Thanks sorry i did not mention I'm using rivatuner it runs through nvida drivers. What NVIDA driver version are you using. Im using 81.95_forcewa
I think the NVIDA deterrent program running in the background only happens when i go from core clock 375-376 right at that line if i cross it then i watch my CPU usage go up to 100% at idle
