View Full Version : Can you make a P4 throttle??
I dont know much about Intel chips so thats why I ask. I have a P4 3.0ghz Prescott in my lappy and I really dont need all that power all the time. So is there any software that can let me do this? Is it possible to even throttle a Prescott with out it being a heat related throttling?

not sure....but can't you adjust the speedstep in the bios? i know i've done this before and my 3.2 P4 Northwood ran at half throttle when it didn't need it

well i think the newer p4's have somthing like amd's cool and quiet but other than that your probly stuck
and you dont want it to throttle since it damages your proc
but if you want it to throttle then just turnoff all your fans and hold the cpu fan still :)
