Hi guys i have a 2400mhz Cely ( fsb 400 ) on a p4x400 motherboard.

I got the cpu runing at 3100mhz, but it wont go any further :bang head .

The theoretical voltage for my cpu is 1,525 but my mb gives it only 1,4 . After I increase the voltage from the bios i get 1,540 but its still not enough for me.

I need more voltage, but the max increase from the bios is 6%.
If I would update my bios wich is about 3 years old, will I have the option to increase the voltage more then 6%???

Except the voltage could there be something else that doesent allow me to overclock my Cely further?

P.S. at 3100mhz the temperature is : idle/full load= 33/55

Is there anyone that can help me?

I'm not sure if flashing the bios will make any difference... Your only option may be to volt mod it, in which case this thread would be better suited for the volt modding section. Unfortunately I don't have much experience in this area, so I won't be able to help you here... good luck giving it more juice.

Updating a bios, period, is good. So update it and see what you can afterwards. If it gives you no lee-way then try out sjaaks vold mod :)

I managed to perform a vidpinning mod and now i have 1,73v and a stable 3300mhz.
I want to know how much voltage could my celeron northwood take?
Whats the forbitten voltage limit?

There's no real limit but the newer revisions were more sensitive to SNDS.

For a celeron on air i'd say that 1.7 is the max for daily use, if you run 24/7 i would lower it.

Excluding the temperature is there any other danger?
I can get the cpu runing at 3,4 but its not a stable speed, I get blackouts.
I think I may reached the limits of my cpu :(, apart from the voltage are there any other limiting factors?
And thank u Sjaak for your tutorial which I used for my mod.

Temperature and voltage are the 2 limiting factors for finding a maximum overclock.

IMO, max temperature on a oc'ed northwood is 55C under load. Max vcore is 1.65v 24/7 or 1.7v for limited use.

As long as the temps are sub 50 i wouldnt worry about a thing. However, high voltage may cause damage to your CPU over time.

your volts are too high. For a Northwood which you have SNDS sudden northwoods death syndrome sets in at 1.6-1.7 or more volts. What happens is the CPU just dies. I would lower you oc and your volts, to me it is not worth it.

Celerons seemed to have a little higher resistance to SNDS then regular cores, and ive had one of those run 1.9v for three months without troube.

p4x400? Isn't that the Soyo Dragon? How did you manage an OC that good? Mine were crap! lol

Mine is a Mercury p4x400, wich is even crappier.
I atached some printscreens with my overclocked celeron:
