Can Stang8118 have his Rank back?

This is asking all whom read, and participate in this section for there yes or no answer on reinstating Stang8118 to his team captain status. Back in May he had relinquished his position to deal with real life. something we all need at times. See here (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=389859) At that time Sucka had stepped in to do Stang's updates, and also helped things grow. But now sucka has been MIA with real life issues of his own, and Stang has been doing updates in his place.

So my question to all involved. Can Stang8118 have his OC3D Team Captain rank back?? (The rank i speak of under the avatar like mine ;) ) It realy isnt a lot to ask to give him the little recognition he deserves for what he does.

i say he has deserved his ranks. he does do a ton for us, and we often take it for granted.

stang8118 is a OC3D Captain as it is in my book with all the updating and time he puts into what he does. So I vote a big yes.

I have ask the great one in red already. He feels the members must have there say. Who could not agree? This thread will be all we need as it will serve same purpose as a poll.

Just the odd competition that are fort internally

If we the team are to be a force to be reckoned in world rankings

We should encourage excellence more

FYI Bazx, you will see some contests hopefully in the very near future. It is still be discussed on exactly what we will be doing, plus we are waiting to hear back from a few sponcers for prizes. This section will have some life very soon :)

Who ever said they were? If you check out the team website (which I unfortunately haven't touched for months) you'll see there's a whole section devoted to how we stand (stood) worldwide...plenty of world records...at one time I held four myself...and mark my words, once I get back into this game, records will fall again. But what does that have to do with the topic of this thread?

Last thing here is about domination. I dont want 1 person with a glory happy attitude trying to get there name on top of every list possible.

Who said anything about WR, 1st place, the best, etc being bad words around here? Nobody here (atleast that i know of) in anyway encourage 'under achieving'...

bazx, Digits ment he didn't want one person dominating OCforums. When a single person is dominating basically every catagory other people tend to lose interest with it. Also in that thread your taking it totally out of context, people were basically asking for us to split up each catagory for each little indifferance...

Not everyone here has money to spend on two killer rigs that they can run phase on and rack up the top 10 with 3-4 people only on there.... If its nearly impossible for your average joe to reach the top 10 people usually give up and lose interest.

Its like drag racing a mustang 5.0 against a alcohol gas drag car....

There is no way to determain 100% that a person is running a SLI or single card setup. That was already said in that thread.

bazx I can see your points but I think this is all for fun, at least thats why I do it. If we get too caught up in this you could loose that aspect. Plus I think most of us do a pretty good job encouraging each other and offering tips. If anything I think we could talk with more members outside of this area and get them interested in things like the Super PI Tweak thread. Anyone can do that, have some fun and it's a good challenge.

I dunno, look at XS. They have NO team leadership, just a bunch of benching nuts. That alone means they will have higher rankings. OC Forums on the other hand is a much more diverse crowd. We don't have as many top benchers but thats ok. Some of the elite :rolleyes: teams won't let just anyone join up either, we're much more friendly here.

One more thing :D

I don't think you have to have an official title to be a positive influence around here, just do it. I know I'm inspired by some of your projects and numbers :) In that regard this is also a very individual sport.

Bazx, our interest is to have the team doing well in worldwide rankings as a whole. Not a single member dominating the rankings at ocforums. D]g[ts runs the rankings the way he does to give as many people a top ten shot as possible. Get better by pushing your scores ahead on a world scale...You say you don't care about "winning internal games" and I agree...so why the need for having more than one top ten spot in our forums, when you've got them on the ORB anyways? XS is the way it is because they're in a perpetual cycle...every time a strong bencher emerges, they pretty much bench for XS without thinking twice about it. Luckily it's been breaking up somewhat to add some diversity to the rankings.

Sucka and Stang are both great guys and both accomplished a lot. I'd be happy to see Stang reinstated as a captain, but I at least would like to hear something from Sucka about it, at the very least have him know what's going on.

Single card scores cannot be seen and as a result imo
We have less members benching in here
I mean let’s face it you have a top of the range gtx or xt and you put in a great score

But no one gets to here about it or sees it why bother benching here at all
This imo is why we are seeing less and less members coming in

And I just don’t get the domination fear thing very few members bench every thing just there favorite

How often have I put in a 3D01 or supper pi or pc05 it is very unlikely we will see the rise of the supper bencher

The domination argument has no bases in reality

Baz I bench here not to try to get into the top ten neccisairely but to do as well as I can with my hardware. 3dmark01 is definetly something that isn't to friendly to SLI users and is friendly to those that like learning about what they are doing.

Superpi is still kind of the same way.

3dmark I believe shot itself in the foot wih 05 as far as including everyone.

But the best thing about 3dmark is you can always try to be number 1 with a particular setup I am right now going for number one x850xt pe with a P4
