Hi all,
I want to buy a new celeron II. Please suggest me the best option. 100 MHz factory FSB is a must. Which one to buy? I have a strong globalwin cooler, so I'm ready :)
Since the motherboard is the heart of any computer system, we need to know which one you're using to be able to realistically make any recommendations. That said, the cD0 stepping 800 and 900 Celerons seem to be the best bargain right now. If you get a 900, you'll be guaranteed of getting a cD0, but if you can't make 133 FSB, you'll be stuck at a lower speed that will run your PCI bus way out of spec. Therefore, if I was in your situation (depending on which mobo I had) I'd probably get a C-800 which should hit 1.1 gig with proper cooling and a little luck.

Go with the 900. Haven't seen anyone yet not get too 1200. Alot do 1200 on default vcore.

Hi,
I forgot to tell you : I have am Abit BE6-II v2.0 mobo, and a noname slocket. So (I suppose) the mobo won't be a problem.
Go with the 1ghz... Its average overclocked speed is 1244 so you'll most likely be able to get over that.. And you might wanna consider getting a new heatsink and fan since those speeds are very high and that thing wouldn't do much at those really high hot temperatures..
I bet you'll be able to hit 1.2ghz with a default core and hit 1250 with maybe 1.8 core
BTW I recommend an Alpha PEP66..
