I need to move e-mail and contacts from one computer to another, without losing the 'new' e-mail on the new computer. one uses office xp and the other uses office 2003, i tried transfering the .pst files onto a seperate folder on the hard drive then using the import feature but it says it can't open the mail folder, even though I point outlook to it. any ideas on how best to transfer this stuff?

tried that, but the new outlook still won't see it when i import

The xp pst can go to the 2003 outlook but the 2003 outlook pst won't be able to be opened by the xp outlook.

make sure you aren't trying to open it from a cd as well.

assuming this is your scenario, I would do this:

on xp outlook export the pst.

copy it to the hard drive of the machine with 2003 outlook.

import

Or just open it from that machine.
