Ok I need a headset for gaming, but here's the thing. I want it to have regular headphones for something like a LAN party, but when I want to game at home I want to be able to hear my games out of my regular speakers.
Anything like that?

My sound card has a plug for speakers and headphones. It just plays sound out of both at the same time.

Have you tried USB headphones? I have a pair of Logitech headsets from Bestbuy that I just plug into my USB port. Windows PnP just recognizes it and disables the onboard. I wouldn't recommend them for extended wear though, hurts the ears.

you cant jsut use headphones at the LAN and speakers at home? i mean.. i dont understand what the problem is.
when you go to the lan, leave your speakers home, along with their cables and such. when you set up at the LAN, plug in your headphones, and probably turn up the volume. when you're done, go back home and hook up the speakers again. hopefully you remembered to turn down the volume in windows, if not be prepared for the loud ass starting windows sound that i get almost every time i go to a lan (have to CRANK volume for headphones on my card, and speaker setup here at home is... lets say... VERY high gain)
unless im missing something here, i dunno.

I want to be able to use a microphone at both places, thus the dilemma.

then get an analogue headset mic and only plug in the headset when you want to hear it through there.
What zangr said. Just get a seperate mic.

Haha I didn't even think of that. Inside the box I guess, thanks.
I have a logitec analog headset (w/ boom-mic) that I use both at home and at lanparties. At home I have logitec z-640 sound system w/ the center speaker on top of my monitor (and no it doesnt distort the monitor) I can plug in the headphones into that, then when I need to use the mic I plug up an extension from the headphones in on the comp to the headphone plug on top of the monitor. At lanparties i just plug em both in the back of the comp. Hope that gives you some ideas.
