T-bird Vs XP Vs Slugehammer

Ok.. i build this system about a year ago.. upgrading it here and there.. but Persionally i think a Celeron 500 is wayyyyyy to slow for me....

anyway.... i have been Spotting out AMD's Scence the Athlon Relese... and now i am ready to buy.... but i raninto this Snag...

i was Gunna go with the T-bird 1.4 Ghz 266FSB.... then the One that i was waiting For.. with the polimono Core... the AMAZING :D XP!!

And to make Matters Worse..... i heard that the Slugehammer, what Everyone's been waiting for... is Gunna Be relesed soon.....

Now my Question is should i wait for the Slugehammer? or should i go with one of the outhers?

But My consern is that if I get the XP, would i have Trubles unlocking it? ** i would Probally using TraceTape **

i have Everything Else lined Up...
Full ATX Case
Power cooler Copper HSF w/ 30CFM Fan
Msi KT7 Turbo 2 ** if i do wait for the Slugehammer, I would Get a Diffrent one.. :) **


Could you guys Gimmie your Suggestions? and please Explain what you think about the CPU, your point of View in a nut Shell...

The sledgehammer,clawhammer,barton are about 1 year away(2nd 1/2 of 2002),the thoroughbred is 4-7 months away (1st 1/2 of 2002).

I'd wait till thoroughbred is out. .13 Micron will be the next big processor jump. Cheep, fast and cool. :)

Depends what xp, If your considering less than the 1700 then I would get a 1.4 athlon.

I have the xp1800+, and IMHO it is worth it. Consider one thing:
Stock at 1.53.
That may not mean much to some, but to me it was worth it!

Well, it is Worth it im my mind.... Celeron 500 to a amd XP 1.533 Ghz..... Big Jump.....


That that 1.5 Ghz Running At 1.7 on your sig the XP?

if so, did you have any trubles unlocking it? and whats your Setup and usualy Temps?
