Hello. As I am new here, I would like you to suggest me a graphics card suitable for my system.
Athlon 64 3500+ Venice
768MB RAM
NFORCE 3
Hard disks 160+ 40GB
DVD-RW,DVD-ROM, 8xFans
PSU 400w medium quality
Ati Radeon 9600/256mb.
Gigabyte K8NSC-939
So, I would like to buy a new video card, in order to imprve my system.
I would like to know how many pixel pipelines and vertex shaders the X800GT, X700PRO, 6600GT and 6800LE models have, and what kind of memory (in the AGP slot).
Is there any card you would suggest to me?
I don't wat to spend more than 220€ (200$ I think)
Are there in any of the above models (except the 6800LE) any unlockable pipelines?
I just mention that I am interested in overclocking ths system, but please do not suggest me a card that the 400W PSU won't go with.....

I think x800GT unlock,I wouldn't even bother going with a LE because most of the time they unlock but you're going to artifact like crazy.I'd rather just go straight out with a 6800 with pipes unlocked already.

Ok, but the 6800 costs more than expected. I just want to play games untill the 2008 (the end of it...).
I am waiting for other opinions! And tell me how many pipelines are there (open+unlockable).

I would check out an x800pro. Refurbished models are going for around $180, and if you are lucky they will unlock to x800xt. Even if they don't unlock, though, they overclock well and have excellent performance.

EDIT: 12 pipelines, and 4 possibly unlockable

What is the refurbished model? If this is so, it is a very good solution!

Refurbished means it is a product that was sent back to the manufacturer, anything wrong was fixed, and it was recertified. My card is a refurb, and it is one of the better clocking cards out there.

ok, I will chech it out, but I don't think there are any refurbished models here in Greece... Do you mean having done RMA on them?\I am waiting for other people's opinions!

They've been returned by customers who had problems with the card. But ATI fixes them and sells them for cheap. As kswaid said go with a x800 pro refurb or a x800VIVO

Oh, I just noticed that the X800pro is MUCH more expencive than the X800GT or the X700PRO cards. How many pipelines (open+ unlockeble) are there in these models? Are they worth buying?

Don't get the x700, they perform okay but clock little. Get the cheapest x800XT or Pro you can find. DONT get the XL or GT.

Oh, btw, 220€ = 260$ :)
