The Threatening part about those cyrix's is I'll bet it is in the school budjet to replace them soon, They gotta be pretty old. :)

i have a total of 9.9 ghz here
with another 4.3 on the way once i get off my ass and DRIVE to the golf course across the street :D
still cant get my BDC..(i know with 2k it isnt a bdc anymore)
to run f@h version 2
says it cannt connect to get machine id
all the other machines are getting through the firewall and folding fine...... really i think i got like 40 wu done this weekend.
oh is it common for the console to display 758 frames completed? i thought there were only 200 frames per wu?
ne way someone motivate me to go across the street .. need to put it on the 98 machines there. i hate monday mornings. i tend to be confused and ramble alot.
it was cold at busch gardens sat nite. nothing like riding a roller coaster at 1 am and it being 45 degrees out doing 70 mph upside down. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

1) There are proteins with up to 4000 frames in the new version...But those frames fly by.
2) GET ACROSS THE STREET...WE NEED THE CPU POWER TO GET BACK TO NUMBER 1
3) New member status goes away at 50 posts (I think).

Let me see.....I got a 1gig PIII running at 1125mhz. I could get more but my little Gigabyte AT board (thats right I said AT) only goes to 150fsb. That's a lot of horsepower for a box that's 7"W, 13"H and 16.5"D. Takes 'bout 8min. to a frame.
Got my wife to fold (that sounds kinda dirty) on her little 500 K6II (hate that damn Soyo board). It does a frame in about 45min. Be good for 'bout 2 WU's a week.
Can't get The Brat to fold with her 850 Athlon. NO she would rather play MUD's all day. What a waste.
On the bright side, I just got my KT7A Abit boards (2 of um that is) today and ordered a couple 1gig T-Birds last night. Think I can get 1.5 out of um with air. All I need is one more case and a couple 256 meg sticks of PC133 and I'm cookin with gas. Actualy we cook with electric but that's another story.
Just wish I could get all of um to use the modem in my PIII box to get to the net. I mean that's why I got a lan system. Well, I got the lan system to play Quake with The Brat but you know what I mean. Linksys sez no can do on a dial up modem. Damn!
Well, I got an old monitor I can swap between the two new boxes so I can see what I'm doin. Got a couple old Lucent modems, I guess it'l work.
Any ideas, I'm all ears ya'll. Now wouldn't that be a funny picture.

You can try VNC. it lets you control another comp. over the network and best off all it is free!!!! Here is the link: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/
and here is a thread that explains it a little more:http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?threadid=43959&referrerid=8511

Thank ya kindly Kendan. I'll see what The Brat can do with it. She's the real brains behind this little operation we got here. All I do is put um together and hot rod um, she's the one that tunes um.
When it comes to operatin systems all I can do is lose stuff on um. I'll download stuff and lose it every time.

Thanks again.

I hear that! But even I figured out how to use VNC and it is pretty slick you just have to make sure you checkmark the polling in the user properties otherwise the screen doesn't refresh. I marked all on the left side and it works fine.
also the new foldmonitor is pretty slick and you can add clients from your network and it tells you how well they are foldingdownload the new EXE file so you wont have to install perl also. http://users.neosmart.com/hruzaden/folding/download.html

do you mean that you have the screensaver running on all night because using the screensaver will slow down folding. You can have any screensaver you want but that slows it down. Just letting you know. W/the screen saver going that rigs prolly folds faster than mine anyway.

My Mhz will probably drop slightly although it's an Intel drop so not as bad as one of the AMD boxes stopping. The laptop is on full alert and going strong doing what it does best, being a laptop... and it's become less useful as a folding machine due to lack of availability, except on weekends. (I'm working almost 12 hours/day right now for some ungodly reason.)
I was glad to see that I may be dropping in the team stats from 4th to 6th within probably the next few weeks/month, even if the laptop were going full strength it would not be possible to keep up. :)

If I might ask, why not at night?
Well, I have the YS Tech 120+ cfm fan blowing over my radiator, and since this thing is in my bedroom, I really can't sleep with it running. I do have it on a rheostat, but when I turn the fan down, the rheostat gets hot, and my temps go up to about 50degC. In both cases, that's hotter than I am comfortable with for long periods of time.
More background you don't need: I'm in college right now, but when I get married in May, I'll be able to put the computer in another room (provided I can afford to rent a place with more than one room).

Folding is what we are doing. Folding@Home is a distributed computing project where information that needs to be crunched is sent out to individual PC's that are enrolled in the project. These PC's crunch the data and then return it to Stanford U. and receive more work. It's a method of computing that allows organisations to take advantage of an existing computer network without having to purchase a supercomputer. It's about finding out how proteins create themselves within the body so that we can better understand what causes certain disease/illness and find a way to ensure the proper folding of a protein. When a protein misfolds is when problems/illness can occur.

Well, if you are always connected, with a cable modem or dsl, then it will connect automatically. If you are on dialup, you will need to connect and then send the data...Just go into the config in the folding program and click the box that says "Ask before connecting to the network". Then it will give you a pop up and tell you when it is ready.

I can't get my AKCA "Z" to post at 1.8 or 1.85 Vcore at any speed, so my most stable O/C is 1020 @ 1.75 (1.79) Vcore

I am making plans to retire my P4 from folding. The power consumption vs WU produced is embarrassing. I am selling back 60hrs of leave and will dump it into two ECS boards, one Morgan Duron and a 1900+ xp + about 1G of DDR PC2100. I've got all the other parts and should end up with three machines that can total 20+ points per day. I'm talking about roughly $800.00 to invest. I'm totally into this Folding thing and while I don't have the skills to contribute otherwise I can provide some folding power. I want to get the most out of this so if anyone sees something I've missed as far as bang for the buck please let me know. I'll be doing these one at a time so downtime should be minimal. Peace.
Congrats on your upgrade TT120.

Well, I finally got The Brat to start folding. Had to bribe her with one of my new 1GHz T-Birds. I also put together the other 1GHz Bird but it ain't doing so well. Seems to be running at the speed of my wifes little 500 K6II. I think it may be that it only has 64 meg of RAM. It's all I had (had to take it out of my 1125MHz PIII
box). In 8 hours it has done only 25 frames.
I got The Brats 850 Bird that I'm going to fiddle 'round with soon as I can figure out this golden bridge thing. I hope to get 1200MHz out of it some day. Then I'll overclock the two 1GHz Birds. Gunna try for 1500MHz with air.
I still got 2 socket 370 ATX boards (one is an Abit BM6) that will top out at 133FSB (it feels like a couple 800 Celarons may be arriving soon) and a DFI AT that can take another 500 K6II.
Let me see now, you can add 2GHz to my previous total (1625MHz). I'll bring the other machines on line as I get um done.
More to come.

So far I have the 2 comps in my sig folding so that is 1350 mhz AMD and 1333 mhz Intel. When I get my Christmas presents I will be adding a 1.26 Tualie server chip that will hopefully overclock to 1.5-1.6 with watercooling and a pelt. Plus, once Cox cable wires the neighborhood in a month or 2 I'll be putting a Celery 433 and an old Pentium classic 200 online folding.
WTG. You guys are adding a lot of power, especially with those new xp's. :D
About those durons and upping the votage- I think that you are around the max for those anyway. I have an 800@1000 at either stock voltage or mildly bumped to 1.75. It is using the stock hsf and keeping cool. They get hot but they don't seem to get as hot as tbirds, due to the cache on the tbirds.

Ive added the P3 1.26S Tualatin @ 1500 to my Folding farm. It will be online and offline over the next 2 weeks or so while I set it up for watercooling, but I should be able to keep it mostly online until the upgrade is done. Also, I dug through all my old spare parts and put together a K6-2 system; I'm waiting for a K6-2+ 450 chip to come in that I ordered for $43 shipped. That is all that I'll have invested in that box. I even scrounged up an old Athlon FOP-32 hsf to use for cooling it.:D
900 MHZ but as soon as my other comp. is built it will be a overclocked 900Mhz - 1.3?maybe

Cool, I just got one of those K6-2+ 450's as well. Unfortunately my Epox MVP3G-M needs a 2MB bios to run it, but hopefully Epox can send me one.

Just added a K6-200.. Yet another slow PC I've added.. Next is my P1-166.. If I could fold on my Dreamcast I'd do it.. I got the ethernet adapter for it, too. A DCLinux version would be smooth.

2 x Celeron 533 PPGA (BP6) @ 600 each = 1200
1 x P3 700 @ 1001 = 1001
1 by P3 600e @ 800 = 800

Well I have added a few Ghz this week. Its only temporary but I figure with the shortage around the holidays it might help regain a little ground.
