DSL messed up

I have SBC DSL service and this morning when I woke up to check my E-mail, i notice that the "DSL" light on my modem is flashing red and the "Internet" light does not even light up. Then about 5 minutes later, the "DSL" light flashes green and after, I have about 5 minutes to use the internet before it flashes red again. I don't want to call the DSL customer support since last time, I spent about 2 hours trying to find the right person to handle my issues. Any thoughts?

try power cycling it? unplugging for 30 seconds or so. and check all the phone lines in the house. if that still dont do it, its gonna take a call to sbc :-(

Possible line or modem problem. Try plugging the modem in out at the nid and see if it does the same thing. If it doesn't work it is either the line comming into the residence or the modem. If it does work it is likely a phone/answering machine/ or filter that has gone bad.
