the $50 is if you buy a select mp3 player, this being one of them
I'm almost going to feel bad when I go into a different Best Buy than my store to do this pricematch.
Oh wait, no I won't.
Thanks for the heads up!
i think the title is a bit misleading.

that sure is a lot of work - and if they give you the card AFTER you buy the product its not really a deal .. unless you pull one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/WALMART-SAMS-CLUB-RELOADABLE-GIFT-CARD-CERTIFCATE-600_W0QQitemZ5646312301QQcategoryZ31411QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem

Get paid $37 to recieve a $100 mp3 player....
Buy the first for $65 and get free $50 GC, goto second best buy price match again give them ur $50 GC + $15 cash get another.
sell the 2nd mp3 player for $70 shipped on ebay (- $3.85 for shipping to buyer)
sell the 2nd GC for $40 shipped on ebay (- $3.85 for shipping to buyer)
Total $102 u get for the extra stuff and u still have the first mp3 player.
$102 - $65 = $37 profit for getting a $100 mp3 player free! AHAHAHAHAH

This sucks. There is only one BB in my area! :( Fark
Last time I bought something that came with a BB gift card they didn't give you the gift card at the store. You sent in a rebate and they mailed you the GC.

It took BB 5 weeks to get my $50 gift card to me after buying a cable modem. So you might not be making money for christmas presents.
meh ..i went there and they said they're either PM it or i pay full price and get the Gcard..LAME
I really think all of this work is just nuts. I can't bring myself to doing this.
If you have the patience, good luck.
it can give you quite a rush. if you know what the outcome should logically be, and you're successful at beating the system, seeing the faces and hearing them cave-in is great. i got 20% off an ipod, but i had to bitch to an employee, talk to a manager, and they actually made me buy and return another mp3 player in the same day, but it was a killer deal and made a great gift.
otherwise you get shot down, but then you bitch about it to everyone online and decide to never shop there again... or at least until another good deal comes up that it would stupid not to try.

You walk in to a store with a piece of paper and buy the MP3 player. Where's the work? This is quite a deal. :D

I did this twice then a manager got all up in my face. I tried to do it again later but CC was sold out of the mp3 player. I'm going to try again today.

so yo succesfully got to for $65 w/gcards!?
how'd u do it!?
I have two questions.
1. Do they give you a gift card at point of sale?
2. If #1 is yes, can't you just take the MP3 player back and end up with a $50 gift card for free?
Thanks,
Jared

i just went ahead and bought one anyway
to answer your first Q, yes they give it on the spot!..you pay about $100 after tax upfront, get the Gcard and on the receipt it says you got a Gcard..
i doubt you can return it and keep the $50 free :-p
but, im goin back tomarrow to try and PM!
I just called the local BB and I asked about price matching and still getting the gift card. He said his manager specifically told him that you don't get the gift card with price matching it. Someone must have beat me to trying. Alright who lives in Oklahoma City area....lol I don't see how they can justify not price matching and giving the gift card. Their policy is they will price match items and at this current time they have a special of getting the free gift card with a purchase of that MP3 player. It doesn't say get the gift card if you don't price match. That's a scam in itself. Not my fault BB sucks and is overpriced to begin with.
Jared
After further research I discovered that in their price matching policy it states about rebates, gift cards, etc. given with price matching.
How do you handle a price match if the Best Buy price includes a rebate, gift card or other promotional offer?
Our purchase price is calculated by deducting the value of all discounts, free items and mail-in rebates when determining our purchase price. Simply put, a refund or price match will be based on the purchase price at Best Buy after all discounts and promotions are applied.
We offer you the choice between the Best Buy purchase price or the competitor's price. (See details below for how we handle competitor rebates.) If you choose a competitor's price, applicable Best Buy rebates will no longer apply and will not be fulfilled. Free items received during the original purchase must either be returned or their value paid for. This applies to "packages" or "bundle rebates" as well. If you choose the competitor's offer, the entire original package or bundle rebate is invalid.
If you prefer a current Best Buy offer instead of your original Best Buy offer, you must accept either the entire current offer, or your entire original offer. You may not, for example, receive both a current advertised sale price and a rebate that was in effect at the time of your original purchase but is no longer available. You may choose the offer that is best for you.
So I guess me complaining won't help cause it is in their policy you get one or the other. So much for this deal... lol I did try though! It may work for some of you, but I am not going to hassle people for it, so good luck.

This sounds like the time a $90 off coupon got leaked for when you bought certain items like $45 sticks of 256mb of Kingston and paid for the $35 installation charge. So I went and used it on my $85, price of two after taxes, purchase and after about 10 min of arguing walked out with free ram. Then the next day I did it again with the same guy but I told him that the guy from yesterday was my neighbor and he gave it to me again. Long story short My sis, uncle, dad and mom got in on it and we cleaned out 2 stores of their ram totaling 14 modules. Kept 2 and sold the rest off to pay for college. I dont feel bad because after te first two times at the first store they didnt even argue with me and at the other store they never argued with me.

VICTORY @ last!
i came in today, went up to customer service, the CS manager came up to me and asked me what i needed, i showed him the CC paper and asked for a PM..socialized a tad
he did it np! it came up as $15 after he PM'd it..i guess the computer incorperates the Gcard
regardless, he called the computer retarded and gave me a 110% PM thus refunding $43.xx to my mastercard leaving me w/a $7 MP3 player! WOOT
ill try to nab a few more within the next couple hours, if it doesnt work out my dad'll get the Gcard for XMAS
They were VERY aware of this yesterday and had the "rules" for price matching in hand on all the employees in that area. No double dipping was their terminalogy.
$50 gc not bad after all. Bought 5 Sandisk players and recieved 5 gift cards. Then used the gc's to pay for all the movies, music and xbox 360 games on my shopping list. My son and all my neices and nephews are all done for Christmas now. Even picked up the last season of Everybody loves Raymond for an extra stocking stuffer for Mom. One card even has some $$ left on it.

Yeah don't waste your valuable time because time is money right?. I've already made over $350 off this.
I tried today, they said no.
I figured since Fighter was so confident in this I would give it a try...and I was told one or the other in the store. Oh well.

And how many hours did it take you to accomplish it? Dont forget all the hours spent researching it at home before you started driving around? How many miles did you drive? Take that $350 figure, divide it by hours spent and subtract cost of gas and maintenace costs of vehicle (common to all mileage reimbursement plans) and then you should have a figure of what exactly you made per hour to compare to other things such as your job.
I can guarntee my time is much more valuable than that figure.

Unless you bought all 10 at one time there is no way it took you only 30 minutes. The lines at Best Buy around this time are horrible. Furthermore I wouldn't really consider $350 in Best Buy gift cards as making $350. Seeing that Best Buy is so overpriced and you have to pay tax I must say thats probably only like $175 from newegg. Either way money is money and good on you for being so successful.

In your previous post you stated that you had called the store, asking about this and making them aware of this deal, so at that time they probably posted it at all the registers, so when you went in to buy it they read the notice they posted BECAUSE OF YOUR PHONE CALL and denied you the deal lol

Ok, I didn't quite understand this, so tell me if this is right.
1. Go in to Best Buy, grab the MP3 player, pay $95 for it and get the $50 gift card.
2. Turn around, go to the service counter (or whatever they call it), whip out your Circuit City add and ask for a price match.
3. The guy refunds $30 to your credit card or if he refuses to do the price match, you simply return the whole thing and walk away really ****ed.

All i did was grab the mp3 player and went directly to the customer service counter with my circuit city ad and got it for 65 w/ the 50 dollar gift card, this also allowed me to skip the huge checkout lines. I had to do it 5 times in a row (aka walk out to my jeep put the mp3 player in there and go back in) so I could use the previous gift card to buy the next mp3 player.
