Alright, I'll be upgrading my mobo in the near future(DFI Lanparty UT nf3) so I can oc my Sempron 64 2600+ to a 250mhz fsb

I'm kinda new to ram overclocking so i dont know if i should buy some DDR500 or just overclock my current DDR400 to 500, which is more worth it? I dont believe i'll be bringing my fsb any higher than 250.
My current DDR400 runs just fine at 230mhz, memtest good.

What do you think, i should have a little cash left over when i upgrade but ram isnt a priority, a PSU is.

id say stick with the DDR400 since you seem happy with it and the gains would probably be minimal.

oh ok, but if i was to, say, bring the fsb to 300, would it then be better for me to get a higher level of ram 500 or 600? The main reason i ask this is most motherboards i look at say DDR400, but is that because the fsb is natively 200 or is that because the board can only handle 400?

also if i get instability with the 400 running at 500 could i buy some ddr 500 and this will alieviate this problem? if it doesnt i'll stick with the 400, cheaper :P

With ddr500 for sure you will get 250 from the ram w/o any problem.
