My settings on IE 6 seem to be stopping me from replying to any posts in the overclockers forums. I am able to log on but as soon as I navigate to another post I am being logged out. I was able to post one new thread but not reply. I just tried to "Preview Post" and was marked as logged out. I am also having trouble posting this thread.

Has anyone else with IE 6 and WinXP had this trouble. I tried to set the cookies to always accept from overclockers.com in the privacy tab-but this has not helped.

My security is on medium in both the privacy tab and the security tab of the Tools-Internet Options.

HELP!!!

Hey does it work? Can I actually do a reply? Testing here.

OK so I think I finally figured out what to do. In the Privacy option I had added the http://www.overclockers.com/ site as a site from which to trust cookies.

I had to add the http://forums.overclockers.ws/ site as an always allow cookies site.

I hope this information is correct and I hope it helps others find their way back to overclockers.com forums!!

This is a very salient point to consider when installing WinXP and using M$'s new Internet Explorer, so I'm bumping it.

M$, in their never-ending (never-completed) attempt to shore up security, is attempting something (IMO) worthwhile by taking the conservative approach with cookies. You have to opt IN (wow, M$ finally copied a good concept) to accept cookies--especially those that report to other websites than the one that issued them. It's likely that you will be prompted to accept cookies at just about every new site you visit. Initially, this might seem a pain. But, after a period of time surfing, you will have enabled cookies to those sites that you frequent (and therefore trust) more often. Only the new and questionable sites will initiate a prompt asking if you want to accept them (or not). You will also be able to always reject cookies from those site you deem totally untrustworthy.

I believe that the default is to screen cookies by website, but you can adjust to accept all cookies or reject all cookies that report to other sites (or whatever combination thereof).

I had that problem I went into the secruity and just pressed "Accept all cookies"...
