So I think I know enough about computers to help people around the community. Then I get a computer from a friend, and now I'm puzzled.
Here's the problem.
Computer starts up extremely slow. When windows finally loads up, a small dialog box pops up stating there is a Remote Procedure Call error and that windows will shut down in 60 seconds. So I figure I'll go into admin tools and services and shut off the RPC. No such luck. My taskbar is absent, I can't call up the properties for the RPC, and I don't have enough time to load any tools to fix the computer.
So you'd say, why bother? Just restore the system with the disks that came with the computer. Yeah, tried it. It wouldn't even allow a system restore.
Any thoughts?
