Heh, this is my just aquired solid brass res. I can't take credit for it's design or creation, a member over at XS gets that, he goes by 3tripnip. Anyway, I knew I wanted to use a res for my next build, and I have always liked the Aquatube (http://aquacomputer.de/e_content/e_aquatube.htm) but alas, it is aluminum and has 1/8" BSP threads which are just too small. When I saw the brass res which I now have in my possesion, I fell in love :D It was exactly what I was looking for. Now for some pics.

Niks (hi)... it's really pretty... almost girly, it's so pretty... but, it seems a shame to hide it inside a drive bay like it appears you are doing.
maybe I'm wrong?

Heh, got a better suggestion? Anyway, the top and side panels are plexi... so you can see right in my friend :D
OT, how ya been vonkaar? Haven't see you round these parts lately.

Since you obviously haven't spent much time on this, I think you should paint it red. And the sides should be made of cast-iron.
I kid! I kid!
That's pretty sweet. The paint looks perfect... did you have it done professionally? It's really really smooth. Brass and green will look crazy together. What kind of lighting do you have planned? Go for 5 pumps this time else I'll feel cheated. Jk...
I'll shut up... I ask too many questions and you'll likely start a thread someplace else =p.
On-topic(because everything should be about me)... I'm great. I have an awesome new job and the boss is 'lightly' giving me permission to borg... like... everything. So... I'll hopefully break 1m soon. Just getting back into the OCforums thing. Slowly but surely.

That is one beautifully machined piece there Nik.
And I thought it'd be another radiator or pump....

i bet you could get it to fit in one of the 120mm fan slots
so you can still see it through the side of a window
all you'd have to do is drill 4 holes :D
That is HAWT! You always have the coolest WC stuff.
So is that a custom, 1-off piece?

So far it is.
Stunning is all I can say. Can't wait to see it in action :)
i hope it goes commercial. im far too lazy to build things like that...and it would rather sweet for my rackmount, which provides three bays, and one is obviously going to my sweet new burner.
it would make my proposed 'sleeper wc rackmount' just a little less untelling, but only to those who have the key to open the bay door.
And it wouldnt promote corrosion, of course.

Nice, so does this means you are now saying that it is better to have a res than a t-line.:)
just joking
if I had a working lathe I could probably whip one of these up in about 2 hours though.

I have 2 that are very similar to yours. Mine are made by Aqua Computer. I have 1 in my floppy bay area with blue led an the other is at the top and I have a fountain nozzle with a blue led.

wow and I was actually thinking you got your hands on a positive displacement pump that would work in a WC loop. I feel let down now... Oh well it does look cool though and since its not plastic it may drop your temps .001C more than a plastic res would.

I got AquaTube modified to 1/2" ID barbs w/ Jet too, but this is way nicer cuz Brass  how much is it weight?

What pump are you running and how well does it bleed? I have been told that these barrel style res's are a pain to bleed with high flow systems. You find that true? This thing is a tank, it must weigh about 8 pounds or so.
it's a pain in the butt to fill water w/ Jet, since you need to fill little by little or else it will squirts everywhere w/o closing the cap :)

i would agrre a pain in the @$$. I have 2 seperate loops and the one to the cpu was kinda simple as its mounted in the top of my case. The 2nd loop is to vid card and the res mounted in the floppy drive area and I must say its a pain. I still don't have a good fill on this loop. Been running for about 6 months. Gonna redo everything and just make one loop or move the vid res to the top aswell
anyone know of something similar? that peticular res would be ever so perfect for my impending project... but like he says, they arent a produced item...sadly.
of course, id like to avoid aluminum.
