Hello,

I am planning on buying an abit kt7a motherboard for my next computer running at a 1.1ghz athlon. I also plan on buying a Globalwin Cak 38 heatsink/fan (http://www.globalwin.com.tw/cd_html.html). My questions are... with your experience, what do you think the highest attainable stable clock speed i can reach if im using pc100 ram. Also, if you wouldn't mind explaining...how would i actually overclock? Is it something in the bios and raising voltage? Thanks a lot for your time and help.

Joe

I have the cak38 and am not that happy with it. I am thinking about getting a Millennium Glaciator II (http://www.millennium-thermal.com/start.htm) . It should give me better cooling with less noise. If anybody has it please respond with your experiences with it.

Welcome to The Forum Joebeme, you might like to check out the Beginners Guides on the front pageoverclockers.com (http://overclockers.com) . If you have specific questions about the Motherboard, post a Thread in the AMD Motherboard section. You will find someone with good knowledge of this board:)

You might want to consider upgrading to PC133 cas 2 since RAM is so cheap. It will make all the difference in achieving higher a overclock. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
