Ok I had to reinstall XP. I am now having problems with getting my Adaptec 1200A to work. It shows and my array is still intact (when checked in BIOS) but windows gives me an error when I try to install the drivers for the RAID card. It worked fine with my last install... I am running Win XP SP2 and its the rig in the sig.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you updated the firmware/BIOS on the 1200A and are trying to use an older driver? I'm not sure with Adaptec, but most manufacturers say to make sure your driver is newer then the firmware/BIOS - if not the same.

Are trying to boot off the RAID? and did you try to let Windows 'find' the drivers?

JCLW- Im using the newest drivers. Im not sure of the firmware but I used these drivers with my last install and they worked.

mrgreenjeans- No the array is where i put videos I am editing, so its not booted from. And windows wouldnt find the drivers.

Does it show up in System devices and have you tried another PCI slot? Sometimes the IRQ's can conflict.

It shows up as unknown device under Raid or something. And it worked in this slot before, do IRQs like that change with just a OS reinstall (no hardware changes)? So no I didnt try another slot cuz the cables only reach this one... :/

If it shows as an unknown device, right click and "update driver" specify the path to your drivers. Should load and become available.

And yes, IRQ's can switch on on Os reinstall.

If "Plug and Play OS?" in BIOS is set to "Yes" or "True"

SniperXX: Can you give a link to the driver you are using?

Did you load any drivers when the install asked for the "f6"?

Only required if using as a boot device.
I just sold one of these I used for about 3 years with nary a fuss. Did you try swapping PCI slots just for s***s and giggles?
