I'm the freeloading non-team member who stops in from time to time for info. Hope I can still get some. :)
I've finally DL'ed the CLC and run it. I also picked up Spy. Didn't get Driver because I don't see the need for a cache here. I leave my internet connection always on.
My problem: when I shutdown/restart windows, the CLC doesn't shut down. It requires a manual termination. I'm not sure if I've overlooked some option in Spy. I just checked the option boxes that looked right. :)
Also, are there command line parameters that set the CPU usage amount? I'm not sure what this defaults to, but I want to at least process as fast as the screen saver did, or more when I'm away from home.
BTW, I'm running 3.03 i386-winnt-cmdline on WinME.
Thanks for the help.

Seti uses only unused cycles. It is set to low priority so anytime something else requests the cpu seti does not interfere. It will be faster than the screen saver.

I meant to say I used the GUI client before, but had it set to always on.
So the CLC has only one priority level? For some reason, I was thinking it had other options. No matter, though, as long as it's faster.
There may be options but I don't know. I know seti driver allows you to set priority. By the way what team do you belong to.

Stick this in your c:\windows\ directory. Should fix it up for you. :)

No team. I started crunching in April 2000 with my crappy 400 Celly and the screen saver, and have been solo ever since.

Godfodda - Go visit http://www.ocsetiteam.com/Instr1.htm and follow the excellent set of instructions Kris wrote. If you use SETI Driver , Spy and the CLC together, your driver should look something like this. You can change the priority to low, normal or high...........and the way I have it set up is that it d/l's a new WU every time I complete one. I do nothing but watch the WU's creep up!
Would you be interested in joining a SETI team? Ours perhaps?:)
Use the link above and have a nosy at us first and see........

Is there supposed to be something besides a PIF file?

Just the pif. Just forces you to shutdown.

Thanks all for the help. I just fragged my HD again and had to restore from Ghost so I'll have to setup again. Have to leave for Ohio in about 5 hours, though, so I think I'll sleep for now and let the GUI run while I'm gone. :)
Couldn't fix that shutdown problem with the PIF file either. The only way it would shutdown okay, is if I manually shut down Spy. This only worked after I setup Driver. I'm sure I did something wrong, but too tired to mess with it now. Thanks again!
