Im about to buy one of these cards but Im undecided. They are both from Asus and if the 9550 overclocks well then I want it. And should I buy the 128Mb or the 256Mb version? I read somewere that 256Mb only interests for high resolutions. Since Im going to play in 1024x760 mode, I guess I can save a few € getting the 128Mb version.

Some of you are wondering why I going to buy an old card. Well, the video cards here in portugal are very expensive. To give an idea an AGP 6600GT here costs more than 200€ (~200 $US) but in the USA you can get one for about 130 $US.
The other side is that we are a poor country, so we dont have too much money to spend in computer parts (see my sig.). To some of you have an idea, the month income of my family is about 2000€ (~2000 $US) or less.
So dont say to me that I should buy a 6600GT or 6800GT because its impossible. I only have 80€ to spend in the new video card and I want to do the best use of my money.

9600 Pro. The 9550 is a slower version of the 9600, which is slower than the 9600 Pro.

Go for the 9600... Avoid at all costs the 256mb versions, they perform 95% of the time slower than the 128mb versions (due to cheap usually clocked lower RAM, that won't OC as well). You don't need 256mb on most games anyway, and when you do, the 9600 is usually too slow for the job.

9600 Pro, 128MB. Great deal. If it doesn't cost more, get the 9600XT

It's a slower version of the 9600SE, AFAIK!

The 9550 is junk. They run rather hot and are often unstable. . . go with the 9600.

I know they are getting on a bit, but what about a second user 9500 (non pro) they are far better than the 9550 and any of the 9600s (ATI only cancelled them because they cost too much to make), and I still have one that has been heavily used and is going fine.
