You have all seen the video from tomshardware.com when the athlon burns itself up without its heatsink right?

Well http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=01/10/28/2139208&mode=thread has some new video that shows otherwise.

Regardless of all the bickering isn't the MP that Tom Tested and the new MP/XP different. IE afaik the new chips with organic packaging use less power and so would not burn up so quickly ? Also neither of the tomshardware test athlons have a thermal diode do they ????

I have a thread on this too. I think it has something to do with the motherboard reading the internal temp diode.

it odes have to do whith the mother board. and the one that tom's hardware used suposedaly had it, but it failed. it is not a reliable like the p4

Yea how did he have a motherboard that supports reading of the internal diode if they don't make them. I am sure that it is an Amd Test board.
