Lately when ive been playing CS (counter-strike) My mouse and sometiems mouse+keyboard will stop workiong. Even when i quit cs(if the keyboard still works) my mouse wont. I had a virus about a week ago that i detected and deltede with norton 2000. it was called a vbsPasson. I dunno if that coudlve caused these problems. Also, in my automatic skip driver log it says i had 4 erros about:
"Calling PnP Bios Function:Get Statically Allocated Resource Information; reference for problem 0A 00 00 00 68 03 E8 00",
It says call comp manufacrer fopr that problem..but my comp is custom and ive had it for about 7 months. If any1 knows what i could do or who exactly i could contact id really appreciate it =). thx
my motherboard is an abit kt7a and a 1200mhz cpu

The best way to get rid of a virus is a format of your drive. Norton works great but i doubt it can get rid of all the files a virus can and will create.

If you had a virus I would also format the hdd if nothing else just to make sure. If this doesn't fix it then check all the connections and wires inside and outside the case.

i would do that but im not sure if i shoud.. here is the problem with reformatting..ya se i built my new custom comp out of an old one we bought from emachines like 6 years ago. Since then we upgraded :ram, cpu.videocard, harddrive, soundcard, speakers, case, powersupply, moth erboard.(still to come another video card keyboard, monitor and possible extra harddrive) now heres the problem..the cd i use to reformat the harddrive is the one that has all of my old drivers for hardware(its an emachines restore disk) that i dont use anymore and windows, its not a seperate windows cd .So im worried if use that ,itll cause major problems becuz of possible conflicts with all my new hardware. But if you or any1 is absolutely positive i should have no problems with anything and that it could fix my problem...then ill just buy a zip drive to back stuff up and ill reformat. (im glad i finally posted this in an area where alot of smart tech ppl go becuz i have a feeling alot of u could help me with this =) ) i would buy a seperate windows cd but im only 16 and dont have a job(yet) as soon as i get one ill get a windows cd if i need it.

The best way would be to do a clean windows install, no restore cds and such things. Before you do that go into device manager and write down all the stuff you got there. If windows dosent have the drivers by default you can just download em from the net. Also i would recommend getting 2k instead of 9x/me
You may try with others free anti-virus software to scan your hd just in case Norton forgot something. After that you may try reinstalling every device drivers and software component. (DirectX, IE).
Or, if you have access to the Windows Cabinets you may copy those into c:\win98 then restart in MS-DOS and rename windows to oldwin and program files to oldprog. cd to win98 and start the installation. Don't forget to write the activation code from your current installation before starting.
win 98 ? fire up system file checker and check to make sure all the windows components are in place.
pretty handy tool if your os has had the snot beat out of it by a virus.

Tomas and Tefly gave sound advice. I would also make sure all my Norton files were current. I update mine weekly. Itman was also right that if you tried a reboot the virus would Trogan and re-format as well as accessing all your SENT mail not your adress book.
Sorry you got caught. Remember NEVER open attachments from ppl you don't know

I don't open attachments from ppl I know either unless they let me know they're sending an attachment first. A lot of viruses come from ppl you know because they're infected and the virus automatically sends itself.

Good deal. My Norton checks my e-mail too before it opens. I hate attachments
