Oh yes... :santa:
I have just finished configuring/testing the family computer scheduled dial-up and it works perfectly. It is set to connect every night at 12:14, and disconnect 45 minutes afterwards. Sufficient time for any WU's uploaded/downloaded or cores to be downloaded.
The software I found after extensive googling was Internet Access Manager. It has a start time and timeout time. Set time and then say how many seconds after connection established you want to kill connection.
I've tested the software almost every way that I think I could have to take any possibilities out of the mix and have found it to be quiet impressive. If the connection is online before the timing perior it will not kill it. However if you kill the connection while it's supposed to be connected automatically it will redial and then kill at the designated time.
This way, no matter what my parents do, aside from turning off the computer :p, the home WUs will have the opportunity to be dumped to the server on a daily basis. I'll have to let them know what I did or otherwise I could see my dad disconnecting at the given time window and it reconnecting and him going crazy trying to disconnect it. :)
Also the program I found has a server/client ability so that the computer that has internet access is the 'server' and all other computers on the LAN are 'clients' the clients can tell the servers when connect. Each computer runs it's own schedule and manipulates the 'server' to make sure it connects to suit all their needs.
