Windows media player help

Ok guys i seem to be having problems with windows media player. when i put a dvd in it asks me what i want to do and i hit play dvd using windows media player. media player opens and start to play the dvd(after a long wait) but all i get is a black screen no sound no nothing but the bar is moving and its counting off the chapters what not and such. tonight i tried rolling back windows media player and i installed wmp9 i had wmp10. but that didnt help. I have been using the nvidia pure dvd decoder but that wont even work now. What seems to give?

sounds like a codec issue to me

there was another one called directshow or something i forgot the name of it but its really good. take a look around if u dont like the one above
