View Full Version : Buying Cooling Products in Canada?
Ok, here is my question.
I'm looking for some links to good dealers of cooling parts here in Canada. I'm not to keen on having to buy all my parts out of the US. Does anyone have some good links to Canadian Reseller/Retailers with good quantity and pricing?
I'm having a heck of a time finding good sites.
Thanks in advance.

Not being in Canada, I have no idea if these prices are good or not. They seem to have quite a large section devoted to cooling, hope they have what you want http://www.firestorm.ab.ca/products.htm

Try asking Compu-Wife, she is the athority on Canadian store on the west side of the country.
My store of choice is these guys (http://www.canadacomputers.com) but I've never mail ordered from them so I don't know how good they are about that. They're in Toronto so I doubt you'll be popping in to look around right?
Hey Alberta Boy!! Nice to see somebody close by. I looked at a few Canadian sites and decided to buy from Danger Dan in the US...No problems with customs etc. Some of the Canadian kits are fairly lame compared to the "name" brand stuff. Just buy your water block in the US and you can pick up your other items locally.
Try big008.com I believe they are in Canada.:p
Crap forgot the link again www.big008.com

I recently bought some stuff from Bigfoot Computers. It's based in Toronto, but you could check out their online store. Prices are pretty good and you get flat rate shipping too. They mainly do overclocking and cooling stuff.

I've looked at their numbers, overall I've not been impressed. You can do a lot better in T.O. but again, do the ship across country? That's the question.

Yeah, they do. I'm in BC. There's only one overclocking/cooling store in the Vancouver area (AMK Computers), but their prices are too steep. I had nowhere to go but Bigfoot for my stuff.
Some of their stuff are priced pretty well, like their ASII (it's $8-9 CAD). Other stuff are complete rips, like their rounded cables. They charge $17-18 CAD and they call it a "sale." That's a complete joke IMO. eBay has way better prices for those.
I know bigfoot ships cross country, I was talking about places other than, and much cheaper than, bigfoot. I noticed their ASII prices recently too. I gotta believe that's a typo, its an actual good deal.
Well well, I go off to work this morning thinking I should have checked my mail first, but I see it was good to wait. :)
Thanks guys for all the replies. While you all were getting me links I also found some.
http://www.ncix.com/Canada/ and http://www.dealsdirect.com/
both of wich have some good and bad prices. But not all that great a selection of cooling stuff....well ok some.
13oots2: Thanks for the link still have to check it out! :p
TranceBear: Not Sure what your telling me with that one.
eobard: Also thanks for the links.
mw521: Your not the only one who forgets stuff, don't feel bad! :D And also thanks for the link.
hiroXP: again thank you as well. And BTW I think the NCIX site is also in your area, Vancover I think it was. Not exactly overclock store but they have a great selection. some ok prices. Didn't look to long though.
ve6jhc: Your only like a few hours <------ that way! :D In one of the windiest parts of our fair province. BTW how is the StarTrek Overdosed town of yours doing. Last time I was there was to pick up a spare 69 Ford Falcon to use as parts for my car. :)
Thanks guys for all the links, it'll keep me busy for a few days checking out all of them. And for those of you that are Canadians, always cool to know I'm not the only OCer around with an Igloo, eh. Sorry bad humor but what can I say.

The Star Trek stuff is nuts!!! E Mail me if you are coming through Vulcan for any more 69 Falcons!!! Did you buy it from Dwayne Leech or Joe Brophy? (Small town)
What do alll you people have them in the back yard. :D
Actually not to sure of the name. My father did all the talking, etc.. This was also about 4 years ago now. All I remember is that he lived on a farm about 20-25 minutes south of Vulcan and he had a few old cars around. Older fella as well.
As for your mention of getting the Water block from Danger Dan? What was the cost of getting it over the boarder? And what type of timeframe were you looking at for getting it up here?
Thanks again.
I ordered my block online from Danger Den...It arrived via parcel post in about 1 week. Nothing to do border wise...The Danger Den guys filled out the customs form saying that it was computer parts and the value. I didn't have to pay duty and I picked it up at the local post office. I have also ordered stuff from Bigfoot and I have no complaints with them. I got my Enermax and my Artic Silver from them. Try and plan your purchases so that you can combine shipping over several items.

Does anyone know where to get good tec(peltier elements) in canada?, I know bigfootcomputers sells a 86watt one but that is too small for a modern day athlon, I am looking for atleast a 156w or even better 220w one.
thanks in advance.
www.inferno-tech.com Just a warning, I ordered here and got NOTHING. It is a canadian site also.
