How dangerous are these 12v and 3v rails?

Should be getting my new psu from ups today to replace this horrible psu.

Worst thing about it, its rated at 30amps on the 12v rail! All i have is one optical drive, one harddrive ,a 6800 n/p, 5fans and a 3000+ winchester

thats the one i have ^

this is the one i'm getting. Its probably not going to be a fortron quality but it will atleast be better than the one i have.

Also since ups is a day late (4th day from when it was shipped, 3 day "guarantee") will i get my shipping money back automaticaly?

Also could this 12v line be the reason why i am getting read errors on any disk on myoptical that has been workign for 8months and then decided to not work a little while ago?

Aspire is Youngyear. Not very good track record.

The TR2 are decent, but nothing special. You should be fine with it, but I would have recommended you went with a different unit.

Your read errors could be from many things. Discs go bad over time. Dusty laser.

I went with the tr2 instead of the fortron i was planning on getting because it was cheaper and i really needed something cheap. Any idea how to clean a dusty laser? It happens with all of my disks

rubbing alcohol and Q-tips, or my personal favorite, alcohol prep pads. you can open up the CD rom to clean it or mabey you can stick a soaked q-tip in. Theres also a disc you can buy with a little brush on it which is made to clean the laser as well.
