Santa tried to arrive in my capped chimney but managed to leave some toys :santa:
Got the Dual Opteron 170 fired up tonight.
Thanks to Gnerma for selling me a great board.

That ninja fit in just perfect but I had to hone down and sand the sole as it was warped. I did not polish it like Harlam357 and JoeCamel the lapping pros but I was able to get a decent sheen and flatness according to my trusty metal ruler. Temps are pretty cool while folding a Tinker but I don't have windows on it to see how cool it is. In Bios, with my other sinks, the temps were around 31C, on this beast it was around 24C. I think once I get this thing hauling, that ninja is going to be a serious cooling tower.
More Info here in cooling :attn:

Looks cool in the picture like the glow from a reactor!
Ghetto Lapping probaly helped some but honing it I'm sure helped a bunch. All I know is this puppy is starting to belch some heat STOCK! I realize having to tweek something out of the box brand spanking new is a little sick but when your Opti's life depends on it, you just do it. As for PPD, it will take a while but I expect 500-600 per core.

Sweeet!
BTW, the quote would make a great sig line! :D
I'll be looking closely at the ninja for the next rig, which might not be too far away, since I'm working a bunch of overtime here and in the next few weeks.
After I knock back a bunch of QMD's on my hotter-than-sin 830d I should pull that sonic tower and do some lapping...my garage floor is smoother than that! :eh?:
ARGH!!!!! You guys are killin me! :bang head
I gotta stop hangin out here until I finish my Toyota, otherwise I will never get it finished.
Looks very cool AC I am green with envy.

Lap that bad boy! Sonic tower like my TT103s has 6 pipes, that ninja has 12. It won't stop that 830 from torching the room but it would definitely handle the heat. My TT103 is close to saturation on my sandy. I'm haveing to use exhaust ducting.

Can you fold in a Toyota. A childhood neighboor doged the crap out of his 68 Toyota fastback (I think Corrola) and that thing just took it. He finally killed it by rolling it if I remember right.
Thanks for all the praise, I just like the share whats going on. This is my first personal multiproc system. It's running at stock but the memory is at DDR500 folding 2 Gromys 2071 AMber and 2075 BBA5 for a whopping total of 200 points :bang head  No prob, its for the science.
Update on that Ninja, I had not noticed the pusher fan stalled during one of the reboots while install FC4. When I got the OS up and running I DLed and install 2 FAH directories and loaded up both cores. About 10 minutes later I looked down and noticed the fan sitting still  but when I checked the sink it's warm but not hot with the 120 behind it giving is a good suck. The exhaust fan is running full BTW. I gave the pusher fan a shove and it took off putting out air slightly warmer than my heatpumps. For protection, I have the BIOS set to shutdown if the core temp exceeds 60C. I getting to just love these AMDs they seriously rock. My P4 is still my main rig but eventually the Opti will take its place. The P4 can then just Fold. I need to go tweek the bios so that fan keeps running!

@AlabamaCajun-
So, you like that Ninja pretty much? Yea, I'll be lapping that sonic tower, but I'm looking at the Ninja and/or the Zalman 9500 as a real soon purchase...my New Year's resolution is to do more folding on less rigs(sound familiar?) I'm gonna sell off at least a couple of the slower MP duallies, as well as "several" of the single processor rigs...already have a home for 2 of 'em. With the proceeds of the hardware sales, plus the overtime I'm racking up, I'd like to get with like one more Pentium D(or maybe 2) and a x2 Opty, which I've had my heart set on for the longest time...that is, until I heard the word about, well you know...fAh clients being optimized for Intel.
:eh?:
I mean it AC it looks great!
I just can't afford two big projects at once.
Right now I am buildin a 1970 Toyota Landcrusier FJ40.
My avatar is a pic of my dad's CJ5, he and I built it and my 40 has to keep up with that. :burn:
After the 40 is done I have plans for a big box project kinda like yours.
Just gotta keep tellin my self one project at a time.
Hey a folding crawler that's not a bad idea I wonder if I can get work to pay for a secure satellite up link for an internet connection.
Man you guys are gonna get me in ta trouble I can see that now.

I think most of us have been in trouble a time or two over folding and computers. Each thing is an excuse to upgrade for the other. A vicious cycle here... Learns more on folding.. upgrades computers.. WU's upgrade to teh next big needful thing.. learns more on folding.. upgrades computers.. WU's upgrade to teh next big needful thing... and on and on and on. :D

My new years res is going to be no more than $600 bucks on new hardware which will allow me to get drives, sinks and maybe a sempron to swap out older rigs. This has been a fun year, you all made it so!
Fold!

Shes got Pipes! No blood on the Ninjas sword yet, but I think theres some on an 80mm fan in one of my cases. It's not real sharp but it can cut it you slide tender skin accross it!
