Download the latest 81.98 WHQL drivers for your card, which you can get from nVidia's site here:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.98.html

... these are 32-bit drivers for XP/W2K (I'm assuming you're running an NT based OS).

I'm not sure what specifically you need help with, but I guess the first thing I'd suggest is to read the following...

Driver Installation Hints
http://www.nvidia.com/object/driver_installation_hints.html

... uninstall the old nVidia display drivers using Add/Remove Programs (like the above article mentions), then run the previously downloaded executable.

ok i downloaded the latest driver and uninstalled the other ones. but when i try to install the newer one it gives me this error: "the contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are trying to run has been corrupted. please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again." im not really sure what it's talking about.

Try downloading the driver again.
